Introduction:
The
Academy for Administrative careers of University of Mumbai
was established in 2003 with the objective of providing
academic facilities to the students of aspiring for
administrative careers. The academy aims at creating
awareness and interest among the students about civil
services, and ensure that an increasing number of youth from
Maharashtra gets represented in the services as the academy
has been conducting coaching/training programmes for the
civil services examination for all students.
Academy aims at taping the talent in students, encouraging
them to appear for civil services examination and helping
them to improve their preparation for the examination. It
also aims at inculcating, in them, the culture of serving
the community as a whole.
Part XIV of the Indian Constitution, devoted to the Civil
Services under the Union & the State, deals with the
recruitment and conditions of services of the All India
Services, mode of appointment, functions etc, of the UPSC
and state Public Services commission subject to provisions
of the constitution, parliament is empowered to regulate the
recruitment & conditions of the Civil Servants.
Civil services assume high honour and
recognition apart from challenges and job satisfaction.
Civil servants play an important role in making suggestions
to the policy makers and implementing the polices made by
the government. Therefore, it assumes a prime media for
services to the nation and the human society as a whole.
Young graduates set with such high objectives
and goal for civil services need proper guidance for
preparing these examinations. In view of the fact that to
promote/inculcate good thoughts for human quality,
meticulous planning and confidence amongst the students of
the University for high quality job opportunities, the
University of Mumbai has established this Academy for
Administrative Careers for providing guidance to the
candidates aiming to appear for Civil Service Examinations
conducted by UPSC, New Delhi.
Objective:
To create awareness among the youth of Maharashtra about
aims and objective, procedures and relative advantage of
various competitive examination particularly civil services
examination.
To inculcate in them the culture of serving the community
and the nation.
To plan and conduct coaching and training programmes for
successful participation in the competitive examination.
To muster support for conduct of coaching form eminent
administrator, academician and professional expert from
management, training and research institutions.
