Report of the academic year 2014-15

     Following programmes were conducted successfully in the department in the academic year 2014-15 for the students with the help and co-operation of the teaching and non-teaching staff.

June

1)      Yoga and voice culture workshop by Dr. Manjeeri Gokhale – 16 and 17 June 2014.

2)      Gurupournima Programme _ Teacher In-charge – Shri Narendra Kothambikar, Smt. Vidya Khandwe – 24 July 2014, Smt Sahana Banerjee was the chief artist.

3)      Dr. Ashok Ranade Memorial Lecture Series was organized in the memory of very first HOD of Music Department and world famous Musicologist Late Dr. Ashok Ranade  in collaboration with Sathye College Vile Parle -  Teacher In-Charge – Dr. Anaya thatte, Dr. Kunal Ingale, Dr. Chetana Banawat – 30July -1^st August 2014.

4)      vkeph eSfQy ,  programme to offer stage to the ex- students and the new entrants of the Department was organized on 28 August  2014.

5)      Film on laxhrkps lqo.kZ;qx was shown to the students on 16^th September 2014.

6)      A programme Bhajan Sandhya was presented on 2^nd October on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.- Teacher In-charge- Dr. Mrudula Joshi.

7)        vkeph eSfQy 2 -a programmes of the ex students and the new entrants of the Department was organized on 26^th November 2015 – Teacher In-charge- Smt. Shashwati Mandal.

                                                                      December

8)      A study tour to Sawai Gandharva Mahotsav Pune was organized from 11^th to 13 th December 2015.

9)      A workshop was conducted   for the students of Light Music Course by renowned Music Director and Singer Shri Milind Ingale on 23 December 2014.

10)   Students gave Ghazal Performances on the cultural evening of Indian Science Congress, An International event – Teacher in-Charge- Dr. Anaya Thatte

11)   Foundation Day of the Department was celebrated on  28 January 2015 . Teacher In-charge -

12)   Students Presented University song on the Convocation programmme.

13)   Students Presented University song and  Motivational song  on Youth Day which was celebrated at Kalina Campus on 12 th January 2015.

14)   On the occasion of Gandhi Punyatithi, Students of the Department presented a programme of bhajans on All India Radio. Teacher In-Charge- Dr. Kunal Ingale.

15)   A paper Presentation Competition was arranged for the students of M.Mus Part I and II . on 6^th and 9 th February 2015.– Teacher In-Charge- Dr. Maneesha Kulkarni

16)   vkeph eSfQy, was planned Teacher In-Charge was Dr. Maneesha Kulkarni, but could not be conducted because of short of time.

17)   A National Seminar on the Topic  “Various dimensions of presentation in Classical and Semi-classical music” was  conducted on 24^th February 2015.

          Annual Report of the department for the academic year 2013-14

•  On 2^nd October, 2013 Music Department and Lok Kala Academy organized a programme of ‘BhajanSandhya’ at Gateway of India in the evening.  The students of the dept. presented various bhajans.

• Under Inter University Cultural Exchange Programme team of LucknowUniversity visited our department from 15^th January, 2014 to 20^th January, 2014.  The staff and students of BhatkhandeSangeetSansthan, Lucknow performed at the department.   Staff and students of our department visited to Lucknow University from 23^rd February, 2014 to 1^st March, 2014, and gave performance.

• The Department of Music and Lok Kala Academy organized a Programme of Pt. Bhimsen Joshi SmrutiSamaroh from 14^th January, 2014 to 19^th January, 2014 at V.V. Bhavan and in Kalina Campus.  Renowned Vocalist of Patiala Gharana, Begum Parveen Sultana and Percussionist UstadTaufiqueQuereshi performed on this occasion.

• Students of the Department presented University Song and National Anthem on 15^th August, 2013 and 26^th January, 2014.  Convocation ceremony held on 12^th January, 2014.

• The department organized Yoga and Voice Culture Workshop for the students of Diploma Part – I and Part – II on 17^th and 18^th February, 2014 at International Students Hall, V.V. Bhavan, ‘B’ Road, Churchgate, Mumbai – 400 020.  Dr. ManjiriGokhale renowned expert in this field conducted it for the students.

• University Song workshop by Pt. Achyut Thakur was organized on 23^rd  January, 2014 for all the students of Department.

• On 12^th January, 2014 Music Departmentincollaboration with Student Welfare Department and N.S.S. Departmentcelebrated a programme of ‘YuvaDiwas’ at Kalina Campus.  The students of the Departmentperformed University Song and Theme Song.

• 45^th Foundation day of the department was celebrated on 28^thJanuary, 2014 at 2.00 p.m. on ShahirAmarshaikh Auditorium, V.V. Bhavan, Mumbai – 400 020.  The students of the department presented various cultural programmes.

• Department organized a musical pogramme “Up ShashtriyaGayan” featuring renowned artist Dr. SandhyaKathavate on 28^th March, 2014 at International Students Hall, V.V. Bhavan, Churchgate, Mumbai – 400 020 .
